Review of Eisch Vino Nobile Breathable, Set of 6

I love wine and have several types of stemware, including Riedel, so was very curious--although sceptical--when I first read about Eisch's "breathable" glasses. After trying these Bordeaux glasses with several wines now and comparing to my Riedel, I have to say I am very impressed and surprised by how well they work.Flavors and smells really open up very quickly in these glasses--yes, as if they'd been decanted for a much longer period of time. The difference is noticeable within a couple of minutes.Other glasses are still fine if you do, in fact, decant, but these Eisch are wonderful for providing quick results. The glass is not quite as thin as Riedel and I might prefer the lip feel a tiny bit more with the Riedel, but I'll probably be drinking out of the Eisch more.Just FYI, for those also comparing: The two Bordeaux glasses (Riedel Vinum and Eisch Vino Nobile) look very similar and are virtually identical in height. [BTW, look for a deal at napacabs.]

Product Description:
Properties of breathable glasses: a wine poured into a breathable glass for just 2 to 4 minutes will show signs of aeration equivalent to the same wine that has been decanted and aerated for 1 to 2 hours. The original character and structure of the wine are preserved, yet the wine's aroma and palate impression become more open and generous. The properties of breathable glasses were confirmed by wine professionals all over the world and Eisch also received innovation awards from Germany and Canada. The breathable glasses are made in Germany. In addition to wine, breathable glasses can also lead to improvements with spirits, fruit juices, and mineral water. Manufacturing technology: breathable glasses are made from lead-free crystal-glass. After the actual manufacturing process, the glasses undergo an oxygenising treatment which gives the breathable glasses its unique properties. Cleaning instructions: the breathable glass does not lose its effectiveness-ever. It also does not have any special cleaning requirements. Wash it as you would other quality crystal glass. The glasses are dishwasher proof. Glashutte valentin Eisch: the Eisch glass factory is located in Bavaria, Germany and is a family business since 1946. Due to its high quality in production and design and its innovations Eisch has been voted eleven times number one glass producer by german retailers since 1995.
