My brother swears by this thing and gave us one as a gift. I thought it seemed stupid, and when I first tried it on some wines that I like as they are, I was not impressed. Then, for an experiment, we tried it on a bottle of Charles Shaw (aka Two Buck Chuck) Merlot that we had intended to use for cooking, and the difference was really remarkable (not enough to make me a Two Buck Chuck convert, but enough to make it taste pretty good).If you customarily buy inexpensive wines or are throwing a party and don't want to spend too much on wine, then this thing will probably pay for itself pretty quickly.I have found that I did not like what it did to a couple of wines that I liked to begin with, so I wouldn't necessarily use it on something you really like.Luckily, it seems to change the wine as it's coming through the neck and doesn't change what remains in the bottle much, so if you don't like what it does to a certain wine, just take the clip off when you pour the next glass.
