I purchased a Breezaire WK 3000 in 2002, and recently (Aug 2007) the outside of the case started freezing up. I contacted the company and they don't have authorized repair techs. The company informed me that my unit is still under warranty for parts but I would have to ship the unit to CA to be worked on. This would involve me removing it from the wall of my cellar and shipping it at my cost. The unit is much too heavy for me to remove it myself (I am a woman living alone) and shipping would probably cost nearly $100. And after all that effort I have no idea whether it could be repaired and at what cost. The message I take away from this is that even though I spent nearly $1,000 to purchase this five years ago, they would prefer I purchase another. Talk about throwing good money after bad. My wine retailer is checking locally to see if there is anyone who can work on these units. If that fails, it will become a very expensive wall ornament in my now non-temperature controlled wine cellar.
