The bar is exactly as pictured.I put it together myself and didn't have too much of a problem.It can be a little awkward at some points because of the hinged pieces swinging around, so be careful that it doesn't smash a finger.I don't think it can support too much weight, but it is pretty sturdy.

This product is exactly what it appears to be.It was relatively simple to put together; It looks great as a wine rack and console table - we use it as both in our eat-in kitchen.It holds 27 bottles on the slats, not 30 but you need good size bottles as very skinny bottles will possibly fall through the slats.All in all definately worth the money and looks great with a dark wood finish!

Review of Winsome Wood Oval Wine Rack, Espresso

I got these at a fabulous discounted price on Black Friday, so I ordered two, thinking they'd make really nice unobtrusive but interesting end tables on either side of a love seat.

The good part: These really are real wood (mahogany?), and heavy, and while they do require a little assembly, it's quickly and easily done (and you'll also learn how nice furniture is made).

The sad thing: These are made in Thailand, and the workmanship left much to be desired.

I received my wine racks in two separate shipments. I was so excited when the first one arrived that I immediately put it together to see how it would look. I'm kind of half-blind, and I didn't notice until after I'd screwed down all the screws with the included Allen wrench and tapped in the (real) wooden screw-head covers that the table top had a horrid flaw in it. There was a knot, and the worker had made an effort to sand it so it wasn't so obvious, then varnished over it. It looks so bad, I'll have to either refinish the whole table or paint it or put a (yuck!) doily over it.

Amazon has been so good to me that I'm very reluctant to return anything unless it's just completely unacceptable. I decided to wait until the second table arrived and compare the two, then return the first if there was a substantial difference. The second one was in much better shape, but it still had a flaw in the table top's surface.

I told myself "You get what you pay for" and decided to keep both the wine rack/tables and just sit stuff on top of the places that are so flawed. Besides, I have bad arthritis and just didn't have what it takes to unassemble them and repack them for return. And I always wonder, with products that are made overseas, what kind of conditions the workers have to work in and what's expected of them. A table is a thing, after all. So is money.

Anyway, I can live with tables I didn't pay all that much for that have a few flaws. I would have spent more at the thrift store for something that's not as nice as these are. The wood is sturdy. The tables are serviceable. They are classy-looking except for the flawed workmanship. They make a nice end/occasional table when you don't have a lot of room. But they are nowhere near perfect....

Review of Winsome Wood Wine Cabinet with Glass Door, Espresso

The pieces are solid wood (espresso finish) and they look nice.Easy to assemble but be sure to follow the directions.What I was really impressed with was how they made the back of the cabinet.I've made other ready-to-assemble furniture, like book cases, where the back of it is thick cardboard and is attached to the outside back via small nails.I can see why manufacturers would do this because it is much cheaper for them.For this cabinet though, the back is thin plywood and it is attached to the back via grooves inside the cabinet - no nails or glue!This is the type of back I see from the show The New Yankee Workshop which I think could fool other people to thinking it's not ready-to-assemble.

Two small things prevented me from giving it 5 stars.The first is the door stop that's inside the cabinet to prevent the door from going too far in the cabinet.The door stop (two of them) is made of plastic with what looks like a magnet inside and one of mine was cracked.It wasn't enough to send it back but I ended up taping it together and it seems ok.What was also weird is, the door itself had no metal strip inside it so the door stop having a magnet doesn't make sense.Fortunately, the door is snug enough not to need a magnet to hold it closed.The second thing is the strong odor of furniture polish.I don't think it's the smell of wood because it's too strong.When I open the door, I get a whiff of what I normally smell from furniture polish (and I didn't use anything on it - just a duster).It was strong enough that I worried if it would somehow leave a taste in the wine glasses I have stored in it.I've used a wine glass from it and did not detect any off-taste so that's good.

I would definitely buy again - will see if Winsome also makes end tables since I'm in need of one.

Review of Winsome Wood Kingston Removable Tray Wine Storage Cube

I purchased two of these racks at about $44 each including shipping.It was fairly easy to assemble and seems to work well for what it is.
You are not going to want to use this as a display rack.The wood is cheap and so is the finish.
It is great for out of site storing such as basements or under stairs.
I did have some problems with one of the racks, hence the 3 stars.It was missing a screw and one of the removable racks was falling apart.I just used one of my own screws and some wood glue to fix it up.
It will not hold small bottles like ice wine but so far everything else I have seems to fit fine.
If you need something that is going to be out in the open I would highly recommend you spend the extra money for a nicer wine rack.This is definitely a budget one.

Review of Winsome Wood Foldable Wine Rack, Walnut

For its price (purchased before its recent 37% price increase), this wine rack was a satisfactory purchase. What I was most disappointed with was that the rack was designed for a bottle body length of eight inches or less. Since most wine bottles are larger than eight inches, they will not snugly sit in their slot and will therefore be slightly angled from horizontal. Also, since the rack is only 11.5 inches deep, I'm hoping that stability on a carpet will not be a problem.

The rack is easy to assemble. I had to use a hammer to pound in the six dowels (there is not sufficient spacing to use a rubber mallet). Finally, I noticed that there were several small scratches that showed the underlying wood.

This wood is cheap, I would put it at a level above balsa wood.I thought it was going to break while being put together. The wood plugs are too small for the screw holes and they fell out.There was a gouge right through the finish on one side but we managed to hide it.Still considering returning it.

Although it is easy to put together, the wood is damaged & warped, leaving the wine rack less than sturdy.

Update - 1/20/09 : Sent Winsome the parts request form to replace the warped wood on 12/31/08.Rec'd the new parts on 1/16/09.This increased stability to an acceptable level for the price.Based on finished product, customer service turn-around time, price, and overall experience, I would increase my rating from 2.0 stars to 3.5 stars.
