Review of Vinotemp 32 Bottle Wine Cellar

I was pleased with the unit for the first two years I owned it, but then it stopped cooling.I called Vinotemp and they basically said I was on my own - they would not even try to help me find someone in my area to repair it.I can't find anyone reputable to even look at it.I wish I had spent a little extra money and gotten a better brand that could be repaired.

Review of Vinotemp VT-6TEDS Thermo-Electric Digital 6-Bottle Wine Chiller, Black and Stainless

Also agree that the factory packaging is sub-par. My unit arrived with the cabinet very slightly skewed ( you have to look pretty hard to notice it), and needed to use the leveling feet to sit it straight. Nevertheless, a fine little unit which looks great on the countertop, holds the set-point temperature perfectly, and makes absolutely no noise whatsoever.

Review of Vinotemp VT-12TEDS Thermo-Electric Digital 12-Bottle Wine Chiller, Black and Stainless

I did a lot of research on different wine cellars before I finally settled on this one. Each product I reviewed did have its trade offs. With this particular item, it is true--larger bottles may not fit as easily.

However, this particular wine cellar was extremely quiet, is not overly large, will fit 12 normal size bottles (or just a little less with bigger bottles) and just looks good.

Since I do not necessarily always have 12 bottles in stock at home, the size of the bottles do not affect me that much.As to the shelves sliding all the way out, again...it doesn't make that much of a difference to me since I usually know which wines are on which shelves and haven't needed to slide them out except maybe twice.

For the price, the size, the look, and the extreme quietness...this is a great purchase.

UPDATE:Mine just died tonight too! It was perfect for me, but I noticed over the past few weeks, the temperature displayed had crept up to 60 (I thought I had it set for 55).I just figuredI needed to reduce the temperature, but when I would press the down button, the display would show me that I already had it set pretty low. Then tonight, all on its own, it would beep every 10 minutes or so...and then would not beep at all for a couple of hours at a time. I figured I better look up whether the beeps were a warning sign or anything. Don't know if the beeps were a built-in warning or not. But after re-reading a few more reviews here on Amanzon, I figured I'd better check the back filter. It was dirty, but nothing unheard of.Besides, I had purposely kept the side vents completely unblocked. There should have been plenty of air flow.Apparently not.Just moments after replacing the back filter, the fridge made one last beep...the display went dead...and I just keep hearing a slight tapping noise (other people described it as a ticking).Defeated, I came back up here to update my review.I loved it but 16 months seems a little short. But at least it lasted longer than some of my companions' fridges here.

Update Update:I too called Costco after reading a few others' reviews. They took it back no problem.God bless Costco!

Review of Vinotemp VT-28TEDS Thermo-Electric Digital 28-Bottle Wine Chiller, Black and Stainless

Prior to purchase I had read various reviews about the unit's inability to properly cool. Despite the warning, I went ahead, hoping for better luck, as the unit had the best combination of price/capacity.I decided the best approach was to give the unit a trial run by getting it at my local target so that I could return it if it didn't work.I purchased a refrigerator thermometer along with it just to keep it honest. Sure enough, the unit was only able to knock about 10 degrees off of the ambient temperature, despite brazenly claiming to be at 56 degrees.
On the plus side, it was indeed quiet and sleek looking but it would've been nice to have some more cooling capability. For my purposes, however, this was fine.My intent was to prevent exposure to heat and I grew to like drinking my reds at about 65 degrees.
Flash forward one year and last night I reached into my cooler to find the bottles warm. A check of the thermometer showed that the inside of my vinotemp was now the balmiest spot in the house at 78 degrees. I tried cleaning the filter, unplugging etc. and once restarted the unit whirrs away uselessly; mindlessly warming the inside bottles. For $200, all I was able to coax out of this thing was a year of disingenuous underperformance.

Review of Vinotemp VT-34 Stainless Steel Dual Zone (34) Bottle wine cooler

Purchased 9-15-2009.Frozen wine (not kidding) 3-4-2010.

Vinotemp call is not a good experience.

I called a few motnhs ago, and, they would not even talk to me because I had not completed their little registration card. (again - not kidding)

I called for a refund yesterday.They refused.

Taking it back to Costco today.I notices also that Costco has quit offering these coolers.

Bad product + Horrid customer service.

Review of Vinotemp VT-21TEDS Thermo-Electric Digital Dual-Zone 21-Bottle Wine Chiller, Black and Stainless

I had a very good experience. The product arrived perfect and fast. The temperature seems to be very constant/stable. The problem is to storage sparkling wine. The only shelf that fits this kind of bottle is thebottom one (where I storage my red wine, so is warmer). Other than that, I am very satisfied with the product.

Review of Vinotemp VT-18TEDS Thermo-Electric Digital 18-Bottle Wine Chiller, Black and Stainless

I've had this unit for about 3 weeks and it's running quite well. It arrived quickly and undamaged. Packing could have been better but since it arrived OK, no problem. It fits 18 normal wine bottles (750ml). It's quite quiet (certainly less noisy than the Cusinart I had). Temperature is adjustable and accurate. Obviously it allows for one temperature, so if you like your white wines chilled you'll probably have to move it to the fridge and hour before you open the bottle.
Overall I'm very happy with this unit. We called a wine store for a recommendation and this is the manufacturer he recommended.

Review of Vinotemp VT-16TEDS Thermo-Electric Digital 16-Bottle Wine Chiller, Black and Stainless

I guess I was lucky compared to others, I got 18 months out of it. The temp display went out and I had the ticking noise that other reviews mentioned. It could not handle a warmer room (couldn't keep the temp I had set it at) but simply moving elsewhere solved the problem. I'm glad I got it on clearance and only spent $50, but I don't recommend it at any other price. I wonder if ANY of the smaller free standing units last, at least one that is affordable. Seems like most reviews complain they only last 6-18 months.
