Review of Clean-Cut Wine and Champagne Bottle Foil Cutter

This foil cutter works well. It complements the excellent Metrokane Rabbit Corkscrew, Black, and works far better than the useless Metrokane Velvet Foil Cutter, Black. The weak point in the Clean-Cut's design is that the material is brittle and, after a time, breaks.

It will happen this way: For years this foil cutter will act as a good tool should--invisibly. It will just do its job well, and not call attention to itself. Then, one day, you will be opening a bottle of wine. You will pull out your trusty Clean-Cut foil cutter, place it on the top, squeeze, and... snap! It will break in two at its weakest point. Farewell, Clean-Cut foil cutter, we barely knew ye.

Next time I will try the Screwpull Patented 4 Wheel Foil Cutter - Black. May it cut foil (and flex) longer than this one.

Review of Cork Trivet Set

I had always wanted to make one of these, and decided to make one for my mother this year - a senior citizen who really doesn't want anymore stuff! I was very, very pleased with the quality of the frame, which was joined very nicely and had no flaws. Glue was included, as well as directions. You need 40 corks, and you should have more so that you have lots to choose from. Lay them out in advance to see what you like and FOLLOW the directions. It's easy - takes maybe 30 minutes from start to finish.

If you plan to use this as an actual trivet to hold a pot or something, forget it - it just doesn't let the corks sit high enough, and the pan will sit on the wood. However, you can use it as a decoration, and it comes with a hanger so that you can put it on the wall as a mini bulletin board.

If you buy wines that use the newer, artificial corks, don't worry - you should still be able to make this, and I KNOW you don't intend to put anything hot on those! However, they won't expand so much as corks do when you take them out of the bottle, so there may be more room on the board. In fact, even with my real corks, I found that they didn't fit overly tightly nearer the center. This did not affect the look at all. And my mother loved it!

Review of Orbital Wine Decanter with Brushed Stainless Steel Base with Crystal Stopper 60 oz.

This Orbital Wine Decanter is simply the best: the best way to efficiently aerate your wine--just roll the decanter around on its beveled side in a small circle described by its own diameter; it's the best way to display the rich hues of your favorite wines through the clear, Scandinavian-style design glass; it's the best way to pour because it's easy to hold and has a no-drip lip. Simple, efficient, and elegant. I received mine as a gift and I've passed that favor on to many others.

Review of Stainless Steel Wine / Champagne Bucket

I purchased this for a special occaision and am sending it back because it's just not nice enough.

The problem is the little handles on the side. The bucket itself, while thin, is nice and shiny. The little handles look like cheap tin that was spot welded on spoling the whole effect.

If they made it without the little rings, I would have kept it.

Review of Magnetic Wine Collar Drip Stopper, Two-Piece, Silver Plated

the thing works much better, and even looks better, than it appears in the picture.I think it's overpriced by 1/3, but it does seem to be a "one of a kind" item.I use it on every bottle, and would buy another if it comes to that.

Review of Wine Wipes with Mirror - Removes Wine Stains from Teeth

I was excited to try this product as I always have "purple teeth".They arrived in time and the container was small enough to fit in my purse to bring out at night. The problem is, they look like "Stridex" pads and taste like really old sea water.AWFUL.
