Received my Corkpops opener as a gift three years ago & have been amazed at the ease of opening a bottle of wine ever since.I always order two boxes of Corkpops refills so I never run out of cartridges.Love it!!!!
This is an outstanding product and we've been using them for years.We purchased several sets to give as "hostess" gifts to our wine loving friends.
The Vinturi works better but can be a little messy. The glass stopper is heavy and difficult to see. I broke a glass by pouring with it in place.
As a vintner we remove the CO2 from the wine as part of our process.This device uses CO2 to "pop" the cork--very clever.However this minor introduction of CO2 is insignificant and will vent quickly.At times there is an off-taste --like a lubricant or something which affects the initial taste of the wine. Let it breath for a while -- 5 minutes or so and it seems OK.
I have used this aerator on about 6 bottles of wine and tried the taste before and after using this product. It works as per description and the spout is great for pouring without drops. The areated wine tastes better than just out of the bottle. I now use it on all wine bottles I open.
I just adore this wine opener. I have gone through one refill already and am on my 2nd. That equals something like 200 bottles of wine or who knows how many. It's a great opener. I never touch the other openers any more, and I have many. I was highly skeptical at first (will it be too noisy, too gimmicky? will the gas change the wine in some way?), but it is just so easy to use and you get a perfect opening every time. No cork problems. I love this thing. It also works well on the synthetic corks, though you have to push pretty hard to get the needle through those things.
this wine opener is definitely a very cool little gadget to ooh and aah guests, but it does not always work on every bottle.some corks are too long for the needle to puncture the entire length, so you are left to resort back to a screw opener.also the foil cutter works well but makes the gadget a bit large and bulky to work with.perhaps using a traditional foil cutter and the corkpops model without built-in cutter would be more convenient.otherwise, a great little tool, and surprising how fast the cork just pops right out when it does.:)nice little gift for wine lovers.
