Review of Laguiole Deluxe Foil Cutter, Stainless Steel with Wood Handles

This is an absolutely beautiful foil cutter; no one should be surprised by that. However, it doesn't actually cut foil - it spins, it wobbles, it makes erratic gouges in the capsule, but does it actually neatly and cleanly cut the foil? Hell no. On the other hand, if the reason you're thinking of buying a foil cutter is to make bottles you serve to guests so ugly that they won't want to drink very much, this may be a good idea - it'll make even a bottle of Petrus look unappealing.

The Screwpull Patented 4 Wheel Foil Cutter - Black may not look anywhere near as good as the Laguiole does, but it works perfectly every time - if you need a foil cutter, try that, not this.
